THE RALLY

Four days out of Sirmione

The Coppa Franco Mazzotti carries the name of one of the four men who founded the first Mille Miglia in 1927. It is run by the 1000 Miglia Club, and it closes the season.

The roads out of Sirmione go two ways. West into Franciacorta, where the hills are under vines and the cellars open for us. North around Garda, where the road runs between rock and water and rarely straightens. Four days, 380 kilometres, and more than a hundred time trials.

WHAT IS DONE FOR YOU

Arrive, and it has already begun

The licence, the entry and the road book are arranged long before you get there. Your room is held for three nights on the lake, in a hotel with its own thermal baths and spa. Thursday is given to time trial theory, then practice on the roads themselves, so that by Friday nobody is guessing. Dinner is arranged every evening. A technical crew travels with the field, and someone is reachable the whole time you are with us.

Includes

Entry and paperwork: Your racing licence, your entry into the rally, and the official road book. All arranged before you arrive.
Training: Thursday spent on time trial theory, then practice on the actual roads, before the public event starts.
Accommodation: Three nights at the Hotel Continental, on the lake in Sirmione.
Dining: Dinner every evening of the rally, including the themed dinner. Lunch on Thursday and Sunday.
Franciacorta: A visit to one of the cellars.
Technical support: A crew with the field for all four days, for anything from the smallest adjustment to the largest.
On the ground: One person you can reach at any time, from your arrival to the prize giving.
Media: The team professionally photographs and films the whole event. You receive a personalised album afterwards with a general video.
The driving: 380 kilometres around Garda and through Franciacorta, and more than a hundred time trials.

Excludes

Single room supplement: 950 euro for sole occupancy.
Car transport: Delivery of your car to Sirmione and its return home.
Airport transfers: Arrival and departure transfers.
Car hire: A classic car, should you prefer not to bring your own.
Storage and valeting: Storage before or after the rally, and valeting.
Time trial equipment: Instruments and their mountings for the timed sections.
Personal expenses: Hotel extras, gratuities, fines, penalties, and flights.

Arrival and preparation

Regularity is not speed. It is holding an exact average over an exact distance, and it is learned rather than guessed. The afternoon begins in two rooms, one for a first rally and one for a tenth, then moves onto the roads themselves with the instruments in your hands. Friday starts with a crew that already knows what it is doing.

The week opens in the hills west of the lake, where the ground is under vines and a cellar is opened for us. Lunch is long, and nobody is in a hurry yet. In the evening, aperitivo and dinner at the hotel, where the field meets itself.

Three nights on a narrow spit of land, with Roman ruins at one end and a castle with its feet in the water at the other. The hotel has its own thermal baths and spa.

A rally before the rally

Our own road book rally, run the way the Coppa is run, with the same instruments and the same kind of timed sections. It is the difference between arriving at a rally and arriving ready for one.

Cars and crews are presented, papers checked, numbers issued. We stand in the queue, not you.

One evening of the week is not simply dinner.

North around Garda

The road holds to the shore, with rock on one side and water on the other, and it rarely straightens. Timed sections through the day, and back into Sirmione before the evening.
